Overview

Lead the identification, screening, due diligence, structuring, negotiation, implementation, and closing of direct debt financing and equity investments in food and agribusiness companies.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the identification, development and processing of debt or equity transactions.
  • Lead, promote, and nurture active relationships with food and agribusiness companies, financiers, and multiple advisors.
  • Undertake comprehensive financial assessment, including analysis of audited financial statements, financial modeling, credit rating, and valuation.
  • Undertake comprehensive due diligence on market, commercial, technical, environmental, social, corporate governance, and integrity issues.
  • Structure and negotiate the proposed financial assistance.
  • Present the transaction rationale and makes recommendation on the proposed transaction terms.
  • Ensure a prompt financial closing of the transaction.
  • Ensure compliance with internal guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead the development of policy and strategies for ADB's developmental goals for the private sector, and particularly for the agribusiness sector.
  • Participate in country teams and missions for planning and programming purposes.
  • Coordinate work with other departments on project related and strategy policy matters.
  • Participate in and contribute substantially to relevant learning events and other activities for advocacy, dissemination, and knowledge-building.
  • Draft, review, and provide comments on project, policy, and other papers.
  • Maintain and share knowledge of latest best practices in the agribusiness sector.
  • Take the role of mission leader and supervise the work of mission members.
  • Supervise the performance of reporting staff, providing clear direction and regular monitoring and feedback on performance.
  • Ensure the on-going learning and development of reporting staff.
Required Experience

At least 10 years of work experience and 5 years of relevant professional experience in corporate and project lending, investment banking, or private equity leading direct cross-border debt or equity transactions, with exposure to the food and agribusiness sector in Asia and ideally in Southeast Asia. International experience working in development in several countries.

Qualifications

Master's degree or equivalent in business administration or finance or University degree and at least 5 years specialized experience relevant to the position.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Languages Preferred
Bahasa Indonesia is a plus.
Contract Duration
fixed-term appointment for an initial fixed period of 3 years. At the end of the initial period, this appointment may, at the option of ADB, be extended once for up to 2 years.
