Overview
Conduct a Landscape Study of Inclusive Business in Brunei Darussalam to assess the current state, identify opportunities, examine the enabling ecosystem, and provide strategic recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Agree with ESCAP and national counterpart on study design, scope, stakeholders, timelines, and outputs.
- Agree with ESCAP on study methodology, including assessment framework, gender lens, and impact data.
- Guide and supervise the national consultant's work, including briefing, monitoring quality, and providing direction.
- Conduct interviews and meetings with businesses and stakeholders to gather data.
- Conduct up to three missions in Brunei Darussalam for information gathering, workshop sharing, and report launch dialogue.
- Provide a summary report on key meetings and workshop discussions.
- Identify, assess, and prepare profiles of 5 Inclusive Business (IB) and potential IB models.
- Assess the enabling environment, including the role of government, private sector, financing, and intermediary organizations.
- Identify opportunities to promote IB models.
- Draft a 60-page Landscape study report.
- Support the dissemination of study results, including preparing presentation slides, quotes, pictures, and presenting the report in at least two events.
Required Experience
- A minimum of ten years of progressive experience in promoting social and economic development through research and analysis, policy formulation, and application.
- Experience in the promotion of inclusive businesses, social enterprises or impact investment in ASEAN.
- Experience in conducting research and policy formulation/advice related to ASEAN desirable.
- Experience in Brunei Darussalam desirable.
Qualifications
Advanced university Degree in Economics, International Development, Management, Public Policy, Innovation policy or related field.
