Overview

The purpose of the position is to lead and provide technical support for the implementation and monitoring of the Acute Care Transformation through Basic Emergency Care (ACTxBEC) initiative in Rwanda.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate ACTxBEC initiative intervention and research activities.
  • Undertake regular visits to health facilities for oversight, support, and data management.
  • Facilitate contracting and liaison with service providers and data mentors.
  • Provide support for contracting and coordination of subnational and local coordinators, trainers, and data collectors.
  • Provide direct technical support for implementation and data collection activities.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot intervention/research progress.
  • Ensure regular and adequate facility-level data reporting.
  • Contribute to the development and submission of national research ethics proposals.
  • Provide support to national governance structures for initiative oversight.
  • Support mandatory reporting to funders and stakeholders.
  • Support the Ministry of Health and Implementing Partners to identify and enrol facilities and coordinate readiness assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with national research governance and ethics requirements.
  • Provide support for research and development of technical documents and scientific articles.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working clinically.
  • Demonstrable experience in health-related data management.
  • Training and experience in public health and epidemiology.
  • Scholarly publications in the area of emergency and trauma care.
  • Working experience with WHO.
Qualifications
  • A University degree in Medicine, Nursing or other related fields.
  • Formal training in Public Health, data management, biostatistics, epidemiology or related discipline.
  • Post graduate degree in public health, epidemiology or a related discipline.
