Overview
The Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Analyst will serve as a project focal point to ensure GEDSI is effectively mainstreamed within all programming and operational areas in line with UNDP standards and criteria, aiming to achieve maximum impact for the GEPP project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and periodic updating of the GEDSI Action Plan.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance to integrate GEDSI across project and LGU-level planning, implementation, and reporting.
- Ensure the systematic application of UNDP gender mainstreaming tools and accountability frameworks.
- Strengthen institutional capacity and partner engagement to embed GEDSU principles.
- Support results-based management (RBM) by establishing and applying gender-responsive monitoring and evaluation systems.
- Serve as the Gender Equality Seal focal point for the project.
- Update stakeholder and GEDSI mapping across target LGUs.
- Provide recommendations on entry points to enhance participation in and benefits from circular economy interventions.
- Serve as a technical focal point for GEDSI-related components under community grants.
- Monitor political, economic, and social trends affecting GEDSI groups.
- Implement a GEDSI capacity development plan and engagement strategies.
- Deliver targeted technical assistance and training to LGUs, partners, civil society organizations, businesses and investors, and project grantees.
- Lead knowledge management on GEDSI by identifying, documenting, and disseminating good practices and lessons learned.
- Develop GEDSI knowledge products.
- Facilitate learning and capacity building on GEDSI and social development priorities.
- Strengthen internal and external knowledge sharing.
- Monitor and report on the implementation of the GEDSI Action Plan.
- Support project teams in effectively mainstreaming GEDSI principles.
- Organise and facilitate dialogues and experience sharing on GEDSI.
- Participate in activities to highlight key GEDSI issues and advocate for integration of gender equality and social inclusivity issues into the development agenda.
- Promote broader recognition of the Project and UNDP’s contribution to GEDSI results.
- Strengthen and maintain partnerships and relationships with partners on matters related to the promotion of national commitments to gender equality.
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (master’s degree) or 4 years of relevant experience (bachelor’s degree) at the national or international level in providing advisory/technical support services and managing and implementing initiatives/projects in the area of gender mainstreaming, social inclusivity, social protection, community livelihood or any other relevant in the areas of social development and inclusivity and growth.
- Minimum 2 years of working experience with international organizations and/or government and/or private sector and/or research institution, think tank and/or civil society organization is required.
- Demonstrated experience in devising, implementing, monitoring and reporting strategies/actions to mainstream GEDSI into project policies, plans and activities is required.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting analyses to propose GEDSI inclusive measures, providing technical assistance to a GEDSI or other community groups such as peoples’ organizations, community-based organizations or cooperatives is required.
- Demonstrated experience in providing capacity development support for GEDSI groups in particular the informal waste sector, Government, Civil Society and Private Sector is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in developing analytical and policy recommendations on GEDSI, as evidenced by authored briefs, reports, and analytical studies is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience with UN, UNDP, or EU policies, processes, and reporting requirements is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Social Sciences, Gender or Women’s Studies or another relevant field is required, OR
- A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas mentioned above in combination with additional 2 years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of advanced university degree.
