Overview

The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking an experienced international Consultant to manage Partnership and Reporting activities, supporting the expansion of WFP’s donor base and its positioning in Benin. The role involves analyzing data, identifying solutions for partnership activities, and supporting process improvements.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation of a work plan for assigned areas to identify, develop, and strengthen partnerships.
  • Engage with functional units to develop content and language for various audiences.
  • Support alignment of partner engagement across the organization.
  • Proactively support partnership portfolio aspects, including profiling, data analysis, and outreach.
  • Ensure partner visibility and that partner conditions are met.
  • Prepare briefing materials and support facilitation of corporate dialogue with partners.
  • Support the preparation of joint events.
  • Gather and share partner intelligence using key information systems.
  • Support functional units on partnership strategies and action plans.
  • Extend support on partnership/contribution management, including proposal and report writing.
  • Support partnership growth by exploring opportunities with existing and new partners.
  • Contribute to the preparation of partnership proposals, strategic agreements, joint strategies, and/or MOUs.
  • Ensure quality control of content.
  • Use socio-political insights to support WFP’s effective positioning vis-à-vis the national government.
  • Provide support for the development of partnerships with member states, civil society, and intergovernmental organizations.
  • Solicit inputs from other WFP entities for inter-governmental/inter-agency work.
  • Incorporate gender perspectives in all areas of work.
  • Contribute to preparedness actions, technical recommendations, and guidance.
  • Contribute to the monitoring of defined risks and recommendations on how to manage them.
Required Experience
  • 6 – 10 years’ experience in United Nations agencies, other International Organizations / the private sector.
  • Good understanding of government and corporate strategies and priorities.
  • Experience in developing multi-stakeholder partnerships.
  • Significant experience in exploring new opportunities and providing inputs to design and develop solutions with prospective partners.
  • Experience with Development Banks and funding from host governments constitutes an asset.
  • Experience in managing all resource mobilization processes and resource strategies.
  • Experience negotiating contract terms.
  • Experience providing resourcing advice to senior management.
  • Understanding of partner’s focus areas and knowledge of internal capabilities to create a Unique Value Proposition for partners.
  • Experience in using technology and digital tools for data collection, analysis, and shared data-based insights.
  • Experience providing input into training and support strategy for technical systems users and advanced technical support.
Qualifications

• Advanced University degree in Political Science, International Development, Development Economics, Marketing Communications or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses.
