Overview
The role is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting personnel and cargo, as well as performing minor vehicle maintenance and administrative tasks related to vehicle operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver packages, documents, etc. between offices and institutions.
- Undertake minor purchases and collect urgent goods from local suppliers.
- Collect goods from customs, making payments or receiving them.
- Drive vehicles to transport authorized personnel and cargo.
- Collect and deliver mail, documents, and other items.
- Pick up and drop off officials at the airport.
- Manage officials and visitors tactfully.
- Perform daily maintenance of assigned vehicles, checking levels and performing minor repairs.
- Keep vehicles clean.
- Perform chauffeur duties for VIPs and on-call chauffeur duties.
- Assist the workshop with truck preparation for field movements.
- Maintain records of fuel consumption and maintenance.
- Follow procedures in case of an accident.
- Perform other assigned tasks.
Required Experience
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a driver with a safe driving record is required.
- Experience in driving a variety of makes and models of vehicles, including vans and other kinds of motorized vehicles, is required.
- Experience as a driver with international organizations such as the United Nations or similar organizations, an international NGO, or a company is required.
- Experience as a chauffeur for VIPs or high-ranking officials is desirable.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma (state diploma) or equivalent is required.
- Driver training with a valid driver’s license is required.
