Overview
Provide technical assistance, incidence, and advocacy on Education for All and Protection of Children from Violence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance and training to municipal technicians on Education and Protection issues.
- Provide technical assistance to implementing partners and other Child Protection and Education partners.
- Support the implementation of Basic Education strategies: School Active Search (SAS).
- Provide technical collaboration with UNICEF's partners and IPs to implement Education & Environment and Beyond school age themes.
- Provide technical assistance for the implementation of Education that Protects (ETP) strategy.
- Support the implementation of the” Law on Protected Hearing”.
- Promote the use by Conselheiros Tutelares of SIPIA for registering and referring cases of VAC.
- Provide technical assistance to and monitoring of the Municipal Committee on Homicides Prevention of Salvador.
- Identify new fundings opportunities and develop fundraising proposal for Child Protection and Education.
- Participate in internal and external meetings.
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years progressively responsible professional work experience at the national or international levels, or into international or national civil society organizations.
- Background and familiarity with international human and children’s rights, including Child Protection and Education issues.
- Experience in working with traditional, originating and peripheric population, monitoring of human rights and advocacy is an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of State and municipal governments and civil society organizations and the Child Protection System (“Sistema de Garantia de Direitos da Criança e do Adolescente”).
- Knowledge of gender, race and ethnic equality issues is an asset.
- Ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners.
- Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer and database literacy and social media would be an asset.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Law, Social Sciences, Social Works, International Relations, Education, Public policy management, or related area relevant with UNICEF fields of actions.
