Overview
This opportunity is for experts interested in consultancy contracts to serve as an airport rescue and firefighting shift leader. The role involves ensuring readiness for emergencies, personnel training, and adherence to procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as an airport rescue and firefighting shift leader.
- Ensure that vehicles are well maintained and adequately supplied with water and extinguishing agents in readiness for any emergencies.
- Ensure that firefighting personnel are kept fit, well trained and equipped to respond promptly to any emergency.
- Ensure that relevant procedures and instructions are understood and adhered to.
- Maintain constant watch over the airport and activate contacts as needed with other units, services and authorities as appropriate in case of emergencies.
- Provide on-the-job training to counterparts.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
Required Experience
Ten years’ experience as airport fireman, including five years as shift leader or supervisor. Experience in on-the-job training of firemen and in conduct of exercises. Familiarity with airport fire and rescue vehicle maintenance and upkeep, as well as with their supply of extinguishing agents and supplies. Familiar with ICAO Annex 14 requirements on fire and rescue.
Qualifications
Professional qualification in Aerodrome Rescue and Fire Fighting.
