Overview

This internship is within the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office (RCO) in San Salvador, El Salvador. The intern will contribute to key processes supporting interagency coordination, strategic planning, and financing for development.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the organization and systematization of interagency and multi-stakeholder meetings.
  • Assist in the coordination and follow-up of interagency initiatives.
  • Support research and the development of knowledge products and tools related to innovative financing.
  • Assist in the consultation processes for strategic planning exercises.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of resource mobilization strategies.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have prior professional experience; however, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.

Qualifications
  • Applicants must be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) at the time of application.
  • Fields of study may include, but are not limited to: International Relations, Public Administration, Political Science, Development Studies, Economics, Social Sciences, or other related disciplines.
  • Good command of standard software applications, particularly MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to draft basic concept notes and contribute to documentation and knowledge products.

Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is required.
Languages Preferred
Fluency in Spanish and English is an advantage.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
