Overview
This internship supports the implementation of digital transformation initiatives within UN Peacekeeping, aiming to enhance peacekeeper safety and security and improve mandate implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the identification, development, implementation, and evaluation of digital transformation initiatives.
- Carry out background research on peacekeeping-related challenges, digital solutions, emerging technologies, and innovation methodologies.
- Design and conduct surveys, stakeholder consultations, and data-gathering exercises.
- Support the planning and facilitation of workshops, co-creation sessions, and consultations.
- Draft and contribute to various written outputs, including background notes, talking points, and analytical briefs.
- Maintain organized records of meetings, project documents, and innovation tools.
- Assist with the day-to-day coordination of workstreams and events.
- Assist in organizing and delivering in-person, virtual, and hybrid meetings and events.
- Support efforts in measuring the progress and impact of innovation and digital transformation activities.
- Provide logistical, administrative, and operational support for the team’s ongoing work.
- Carry out additional tasks as required to support team priorities.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Qualifications
- Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent); or
- Have graduated with a university degree as defined above.
- Be computer literate in standard software applications.
- Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.
