Overview
Provides information and services to participants, retirees, and beneficiaries regarding pension entitlements and benefits. Advises clients on UNJSPF rules and procedures and processes related administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides information on complex issues relating to participation, entitlements, and benefits.
- Responds to pension enquiries in person, by phone, or in writing.
- Undertakes research to provide accurate information conforming to UNJSPF rules.
- Initiates administrative procedures for proof of residence and other documents.
- Advises entities on the status of retirees and beneficiaries.
- Provides information on the status of individual pension cases.
- Monitors and controls Certificate of Entitlement verifications, releases, and suspensions.
- Supervises or completes quality control checks for benefit activation and termination.
- Provides estimates of current and future potential benefit options.
- Reviews documentation for complex cases under the Pension Adjustment System.
- Audits cases where eligibility for the local track has been provisionally established.
- Reviews and/or audits cases relating to the Certificate of Entitlement exercise.
- Reviews and/or audits the determination of eligibility to a grant from the Emergency Fund.
- Participates in the standardization of procedures and texts for communications.
- Participates in training activities and prepares training material.
- Trains junior staff as needed.
- Assists with the collection and analysis of data and preparation of reports.
- Assists with visualizations and updating information material.
Required Experience
- A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in employee benefits administration or related area is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to five (5) for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher.
- At least two (2) years of experience in client services in the United Nations Common System is desirable.
- Proven two (2) years of work experience in a pension fund in the area of client servicing or processing entitlements is desirable.
- At least two (2) years of experience in using an ERP system such as IPAS is desirable.
- Experience in analyzing and presenting data using MS Excel and MS Office is desirable.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
