Overview
To provide effective specialized coordination support and technical analyses to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and assist in the development and implementation of various activities and processes.
- Prepare a range of reports and data analysis.
- Ensure accurate, timely recording of data.
- Liaise with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration.
- Coordinate and communicate with local partners, agencies, NGOs and government institutions.
- Support the capacity building of WFP staff, cooperating partners and national government.
- Act as a point of contact for resolution of operational queries and problems.
- Oversee and/or review the work of other support staff.
- Follow standard emergency preparedness practices.
Required Experience
- At least six (6) years of professional responsibility in Coordination, communications and/or working in humanitarian emergencies.
- Experience with coordination, working with several stakeholders, and reporting/tracking systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- High attention to detail and proofreading ability.
- Good research and analytical skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure in a team environment.
- Good communication and networking skills.
- Willingness to work in challenging environments and field locations.
- Proficient in MS Office package, particularly in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Previous experience with humanitarian organizations and/or in emergencies is an advantage.
- Experience in contributing to implementation of programmes.
- Experience in working or coordinating with ministries focal points, government field offices representatives.
Qualifications
- Completion of secondary school education.
- A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area.
