Overview

To support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems and processes that ensure quality data, analysis and reporting for effective decision making, accountability and learning in line with WFP standards and the Country Strategic Plan.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of monitoring, review and evaluation plans.
  • Prepare monitoring and evaluation related budget inputs and flag resource needs.
  • Contribute to the operationalisation of Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Strategies by supporting data collection, documentation and basic analysis.
  • Support evidence-based decision making by compiling, cleaning and analysing monitoring data, drafting sections of monitoring or review reports.
  • Support WFP Management in tracking follow up actions to monitoring, review and evaluation recommendations.
  • Contribute to strengthening M & E capacity of WFP staff and cooperating partners.
  • Provide inputs on monitoring, reporting and evaluation frameworks involving government and inter-agency partners.
  • Ensure that protection, accountability to affected populations and gender considerations are integrated throughout monitoring activities.
  • Support the development of the Theory of Change during Country Strategic Plan design or revisions.
  • Support compliance of monitoring systems, tools and data collection processes with corporate standards.
  • Draft periodic monitoring reports summarizing results and implementation progress.
  • Provide support to mid-term reviews, thematic reviews and learning exercises.
  • Support the Unit's emergency response activities, including potential deployment to affected countries and working beyond regular working hours.
Required Experience

At least one (1) year of relevant professional postgraduate experience including monitoring and evaluation activities. Experience using a variety of quantitative and qualitative analytical tools and methods.

Qualifications

Advanced University degree in social sciences, statistics, development economics, performance management, monitoring and evaluation or other related fields, or First University degree with additional years of relevant work experience and/or training/courses.
