Overview
Support IOM Colombia programming by developing content and information products such as media monitoring, newsletters, press releases, and success stories. The role aims to raise the visibility of IOM activities in Colombia and produce audio-visual stories, narratives, and reports about IOM’s work.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft media, stakeholders’ engagement content, and public information materials for the IOM Colombia Mission and projects.
- Support the Communications Unit's day-to-day work and contribute to developing and implementing the Country Office's communications, media, and outreach strategy.
- Contribute to the content creation of the Mission’s official website and social media accounts.
- Support the preparation of events such as visits, webinars, and online conferences.
- Support the communications team's efforts to create engaging and innovative storytelling and awareness-raising and pedagogical campaigns.
- Coordinate and follow-up requests of the project teams and assist in updating and adapting existing media and communications tools.
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned within the scope of the role.
Required Experience
- Demonstrated interest or experience (up to 12 months) in Public Information including social media content creation, news writing and on camera interviews, preferably in media or the international development/humanitarian sector.
- Advocacy and donor relations and report writing for specific donors of IOM’s interest would be an advantage.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in (currently enrolled or recent graduate) in communications, journalism, social sciences, audiovisual studies, or a related field.
