Overview
The Economic Recovery Team Leader is responsible for leading and overseeing the proper implementation, guidance, and support to project staff for Economic Recovery grants. The role involves coordination with key stakeholders to ensure effective project implementation and alignment with technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee high-quality project implementation of Economic Recovery activities.
- Ensure all data protection protocols are in place and adhered to.
- Maintain good relationships with other stakeholders.
- Ensure technical guidance and tools for economic recovery are in place.
- Ensure accountability and feedback mechanisms are in place.
- Liaise with Global Economic Recovery Team and represent DRC externally.
- Collaborate with other sector leads to explore options for integrated programming.
- Build capacity of DRC’s operations in the use of Market Systems Approaches.
- Support the localization strategy and strengthen local partner capacities.
- Manage local partner agreements and oversee partner grant management.
- Responsible for managing and providing direction to staff.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration within the team.
- Assess and identify needs/problems/gaps and propose timely practical actions.
- Contribute to development of quality reports, proposals, concept notes, and budgets.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
- Monitor partner and staff fieldwork.
- Support the development and implementation of MEAL project plan.
- Ensure monitoring activities are fully documented.
- Comply with all global and location-specific safety rules, policies, and procedures.
Required Experience
- Minimum of four years of work experience implementing economic recovery programmes.
- Proven experience around resilience and durable solution programming.
- Strong understanding on Market System Development (MSD) approach.
- Experienced in Market system analysis.
- Significant experience and demonstrated expertise in market based programming (including CVA).
- Experience conducting detailed market, and livelihood needs assessments.
- Relevant practitioner knowledge of and experience with financial inclusion and food security support.
- Familiarity with self-reliance programming, including safety net programmes and the Graduation Approach, will be a plus.
- Excellent managerial skills, including planning, organizational skills, problem-solving capabilities, and innovation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish effective working relations at all levels, in a multicultural team and operating environment.
- Excellent team building skills, strong communication skills, and proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proven experience in Microsoft applications (Ms. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Proven commitment to accountability practices.
- Proven experience working with local agencies and partners.
- Knowledge and previous experience of the Rohingya refugee response in Bangladesh in livelihood programming.
Qualifications
- University or graduate degree in Economics, Socio- Economics, Agriculture, Rural Development, International Development, etc.
- Masters preferred.
