Overview
The Gender Based Violence Officer is responsible for the quality implementation of the Gender-based Violence thematic area within the DRC programme in Cox’s Bazar, in synergy with protection and child protection components.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide case management services in accordance with survivor-centered approach and Inter Agency GBV Case Management Guidelines.
- Execute specific prevention interventions in accordance with standard guideline documents.
- Collaborate with GBV team members to ensure overall comprehensive service quality of the GBV programme.
- Ensure supplies/resources for women centers and other program activities are requested and efficiently utilized.
- Complete and update all forms specific to a case and submit them to the line manager.
- Complete the GBVIMS incident recorder and GBVIMS+ primero input on a timely manner.
- Submit regular internal reports in the assigned format and frequency.
- Treat hard and soft copy data in accordance with GBV guiding principles and GBVIMS Information Sharing Protocol.
- Share monthly progress reports of the assigned location.
- Maintain strong bilateral relationships with other agencies implicated in case management at field level.
- Conduct field level internal and external coordination with other actors serving participants in GBV programmes and key stakeholders.
- Participate in supervision and capacity building sessions.
- Provide ongoing capacity building to volunteers and Assistants.
- Maintain data in the tools in place by supervising the field team and on data entry.
- Generate regular reports for information management, MEAL, and subsector reporting purposes.
- Maintain and manage the Internal Indicator Performance Tracking Tool (IPTT).
- Maintain internal trackers and lists to ensure smooth and efficient project management.
- Model following the Code of Conduct and demonstrate clear and respectful understanding of team and organizational hierarchy.
- Comply with all global and location-specific safety rules, policies, and procedures.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with vulnerable communities and service provision in humanitarian GBV response or protection interventions.
- Experience in GBV or MHPSS is strongly preferred.
- Experience of working with INGOs, NGOs or the UN.
Qualifications
- University education in Gender Studies, Development Studies, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Anthropology, Law, or related field.
- Masters preferred.
