Overview

Internship opportunity within the Outreach Division of the Department of Global Communications, focusing on partnerships with the entertainment industry and advocacy work of UN Messengers of Peace.


Key Responsibilities
  • - Providing support for projects with external partners from entertainment or sports industries.
  • - Supporting monitoring and reporting on social media activities of Messengers of Peace and influencers.
  • - Assisting with planning and organization of special events, filming projects, and other in-person activities.
  • - Supporting drafting, formatting, editing, and posting original content for team websites.
  • - Supporting drafting of communications materials.
  • - Supporting monitoring and processing applications for Football for the Goals membership and assisting with related events.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. A field of study that is closely related to the type of internship is required.

Qualifications
  • - Enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • - OR enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • - Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
  • - Ability to draft email, publications, or knowledge of social media posts creation as well as monitoring of social media posts is desirable.

Languages Required
Fluency in English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
Contract Duration
6 months
Work Modality
full-time and in-person in New York but can be adjusted based on the availability of the successful candidate
Remuneration
The internship is unpaid. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
