Overview
This internship is in the Office of the Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications (OUSG) within the Department of Global Communications (DGC). The role supports the promotion of awareness and understanding of the UN’s work, values, and impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, edit, and proofread a variety of written materials, including reports, briefing notes, correspondence, and other content for internal and external audiences.
- Support the development of social media content by drafting posts and adapting messaging for different platforms.
- Conduct research and compile information to inform and strengthen communication outputs.
- Maintain organized records of working documents, finalized materials, and related assets.
- Provide support on additional tasks for the Office of the Under-Secretary-General (OUSG) as required.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Qualifications
- Applicants must: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
- Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master's or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor's, Master's or PH.D. Programme.
