Overview
The Finance Senior Analyst is responsible for efficient financial resources management and providing accurate financial information. The role involves analyzing financial rules and regulations and offering solutions to complex financial issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Review reconciliation submissions and account balances for compliance.
- Coordinate and follow up with related parties and prepare issue reports.
- Support in quarterly and year-end financial closure processes.
- Review, monitor, and consolidate UNOPS provision for bad debts, write-offs, and contingent assets/liabilities.
- Review finance data in the General Ledger for completeness and accuracy.
- Exercise periodic monitoring and oversight on transactions and account balances.
- Contribute to developing and maintaining a strong control environment around financial reporting.
- Maintain a log of issues identified and update data.
- Raise or review transactions in UNOPS ERP and provide cross-functional support.
- Review and oversee IPSAS classification of projects.
- Assist in the preparation of interim and year-end corporate financial statements.
- Provide support during internal and external audit processes.
- Prepare quantitative and qualitative analysis on financial statements.
- Support in the implementation of new systems and ERP.
- Support in continuously improving and refining UNOPS financial processes.
- Support process documentation and continuous improvements in the corporate system.
- Become a subject matter expert in the UNOPS ERP system.
- Contribute to the preparation of training materials and deliver training sessions.
Required Experience
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in audit, accounting, and/or financial reporting or related areas.
- Experience working with International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is desired.
- Experience and knowledge of UNOPS financial rules and regulations is desired.
- Working knowledge of ERP is desired.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, International Business, Management or other finance-related field or related fields with 4 years of relevant experience.
- OR Master’s degree (or equivalent) in any of the above or related fields with 2 years of relevant experience.
- Professional certification in accounting (CA, CPA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA, etc.), audit (CIA) or equivalent is desired.
