Overview
The Regional Supply Chain Associate will support Supply Chain (SC) activities in the Region, aiming to deliver quality goods/services to beneficiaries at optimal price and in a timely manner. The role will assist in strengthening regional advisory support and enhancing coordination and knowledge sharing across Country Offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with strategic planning for SC activities in the Region.
- Assist the implementation of the SC Strategy and related projects.
- Assist the monitoring, assessing and managing SC risks at the regional level.
- Assist in provision of support and advice to guide emergency SC operations.
- Assist in provision of specialized advisory services and technical guidance to Country Offices.
- Assist the review, evaluation and consolidation of Regional Procurement Plans.
- Engage with Country Offices to assist in provision advice and guidance in defining and implementing effective procurement strategies.
- Assist in provision advice, guidance and support the Country Offices in the Region with management of Implementing Partners.
- Assist in provision of advice, guidance and support to the Country Offices in the Region in managing complex procurement cases.
- Monitor assets in the Region, including armored vehicles.
- Assist the Country Offices in the Region with establishment and management of robust internal control mechanisms for Supply Chain Management process.
- Assist with identification of training needs in the Region, and organization of trainings and workshops.
- Provide support to assess the SC staff capacities and overall SC operations in the Region.
- Participate in UN inter-agency meetings and forums related to SC management.
- Assist the establishment and maintenance connections with peers to explore collaborative procurement opportunities within the UN system in the Region.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Required Experience
- Master’s degree with four years of relevant professional experience; or University degree with six years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in leading and managing diverse supply chain operations.
- Demonstrated experience in training and managing large teams of co-workers, managing vendors and suppliers.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or University degree in the above fields.
