Overview
The Special Assistant and Philanthropy Partnerships Analyst provides operational, planning, managerial, technical, and coordination support to the Representative, acting as a key interface for smooth operations and optimizing the Representative's time.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support in preparation for meetings, attend and take notes, and follow up on the Representative’s behalf.
- Draft and disseminate correspondence.
- Coordinate the Representative's participation in events and missions.
- Follow up on decisions related to political, managerial, and humanitarian processes.
- Prepare briefing sheets for meetings and press appearances.
- Provide substantive analysis and summaries of management reports.
- Produce key information flow between the Front Office and country/field teams.
- Coordinate preparation of position papers and major reports.
- Advise on emerging external policy and programme priorities.
- Coordinate the Representative’s participation in regional and Headquarters initiatives.
- Prepare background papers/briefing documents.
- Conduct research on organizational thematic areas.
- Support the development of external communications.
- Serve as a liaison between the Representative and external constituent groups.
- Support field-wide advocacy initiatives.
- Support the identification of opportunities for philanthropic partnerships.
- Support the development of pitches and proposals for philanthropy and private sector partners.
- Support devising engagement activities for private sector partners.
- Assist in disseminating information to philanthropy and private sector partners.
- Lead or participate in special projects.
- Play an active role in organization-wide initiatives.
- Undertake any other tasks as assigned.
Required Experience
- Experience working in the UN or other international development and/or humanitarian organization;
- Strong organizational, planning, and analytical ability and professional experience in policy analysis and development work.
- Familiarity with UN humanitarian and/or development programmes and working methods, particularly with UNFPA agenda, policies, and programming procedures.
- Ability to form strategic partnerships and to collect and analyze strategic information in the field of Population Dynamics, Sexual and Reproductive Health, Protection from Gender Based Violence.
- Understanding of gender equality programming.
- Experience in philanthropy, private sector partnerships and engagement.
- Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills;
- Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing;
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills; culturally and socially sensitive;
- Ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners.
- Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging and fast-paced environment;

- Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, among others), email, and internet;
- Familiarity with database management; and office technology equipment;

- Ability to work with tight deadlines.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, Communication, Law, English Literature, Marketing, Social Sciences or any related Field.
