Overview
The role aims to lead and strengthen IT service delivery, ensuring reliable and secure technology support for WFP’s humanitarian operations in Algeria and enabling effective programme implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate a team of IT support staff, including capacity building.
- Provide training and advice to clients and end users of IT services.
- Coordinate the collation and analysis of complex data, and support report development.
- Oversee the maintenance of systems and hardware.
- Develop and deploy documentation and equipment for WFP staff.
- Manage the implementation of new standard applications.
- Work with IT service delivery groups and other staff to understand needs.
- Provide support to users and log/analyse support requests.
- Support the development and implementation of plans for IT service delivery and improvements.
- Follow set emergency response processes and procedures.
Required Experience
- Seven (7) years relevant work experience.
- Has participated in development of IT governance processes.
- Has gained additional exposure building relationships with business counterparts on key IT initiatives.
- Has experience project managing small country level IT initiatives.
- Has coached, trained and mentored junior staff on building their technical capabilities.
- Has an experience within the United Nations system or other international organizations is considered an asset.
Qualifications
- Completion of secondary school education is required.
- Additional post‑secondary degree in a relevant functional area (e.g., Computer Science/IT Engineering degree or master’s degree) is considered an asset.
