Overview
The Policy Intern will assist with programme activities, including strategic input, coordination, and reporting, while gaining organizational and international cooperation skills within a multicultural environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in providing support to programme activities, including strategic input, document streamlining, coordination support, logistical and administrative support, and programme management related backup.
- Participate in internal and external meetings with relevant stakeholders, including high government authorities, supporting with the preparation, note taking, archive filing, among other key tasks.
- Reporting and documenting of programmatic and political engagement activities, including monitoring, stakeholder mapping, contact database management and other M&E support.
- Assist in collecting feedback from stakeholders and training participants on IOM activities and learning efficiency.
- Assist in the management of consultancies and IP partners with product evaluation and review input, as well as adequate administrative and financial follow up.
- Provide general administrative, and clerical support to the Policy Team.
- Any other duties that may be assigned.
Required Experience
- Experience working in an international multicultural environment within the United Nations system.
- Experience in institutional relations (any level) and contact with government authorities and relevant stakeholders.
- Exposure to document drafting and public facing writing.
- Any prior experience with development aid organizations such as NGOs, international organizations, or the United Nations would be advantageous.
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’ s level or equivalent, or Graduated in the last 12 months;
- In Political Science, International Relations, Law, Sociology and/or other relevant areas of study.
