Overview

The Engineer Intern will support project teams in the supervision, quality control, monitoring of contractors, and technical coordination for the construction and rehabilitation of health facilities. The role involves frequent site visits.


Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the daily monitoring of construction and rehabilitation works.
  • Verify the conformity of executed works against plans, technical specifications, and contractual requirements.
  • Participate in quality control of materials, equipment, and executed works.
  • Contribute to monitoring the execution schedules of contractors.
  • Participate in site visits and technical inspections.
  • Support the monitoring of executed quantities and technical tests.
  • Participate in the identification and reporting of technical non-conformities.
  • Contribute to monitoring the corrections and corrective measures requested from contractors.
  • Support monitoring the respect of HSSE requirements on construction sites.
  • Participate in the identification of technical and safety non-conformities.
  • Contribute to monitoring environmental and social measures.
  • Participate in site installation control/weekly inspection/daily log.
  • Participate in the identification of safety and environmental non-conformities.
  • Ensure compliance with good construction, hygiene, health, safety, and environmental protection practices.
  • Complete the risk matrix and monitor it.
  • Participate in weekly site meetings.
  • Contribute to the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
  • Support the updating of project monitoring databases and tools.
  • Participate in the preparation and drafting of meeting minutes and reports.
  • Participate in the archiving of technical documents, photos, and videos of the construction site.
  • Participate in technical and provisional acceptance operations of works.
  • Contribute to monitoring reservations and corrections requested from contractors.
  • Participate in technical tests and verifications of installations.
  • Contribute to coordination with contractors, control offices, and local stakeholders.
  • Support project teams in any other technical activity related to project implementation.
Required Experience

Desired: Academic or internship experience in infrastructure, site supervision, or public works. Good command of usual computer tools (Word, Excel, AutoCAD or MS Project) and CAD software (autocad, robot…). Good knowledge of construction and rehabilitation techniques for buildings. Good ability to read and interpret plans and technical documents. Ability to carry out field missions in the project intervention regions. Ability to work under pressure and in a multicultural environment. Good writing and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

Required: Enrolled in a university program such as Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Rural Engineering, Architecture, Public Works, or any related field. OR Have obtained a degree equivalent to a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Civil Engineering, Rural Engineering, Architecture, Public Works, or any related field within three years prior to the application date.
