Overview

The Monitoring and Evaluation Intern will contribute to the implementation of the “Migrant Protection Return and Reintegration for Sub-Saharan Africa (MPRR-SSA)” initiative, with a focus on strengthening migration governance, data management, and monitoring and evaluation.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall monitoring support to IOM Gambia in the day-to-day implementation of direct assistance, reintegration assistance and awareness raising activities.
  • Provide support to the implementation of integration and /or reintegration assistance.
  • Participate in the development of new monitoring and evaluation tools.
  • Support with the review the conditions of the business plan regarding the AVRR program and raise issues or discrepancies.
  • Conduct field and monitoring visits to beneficiaries' business sites and assess the impact of reintegration support.
  • Support with the documentation and filing of all beneficiaries in a database for reference and monitoring.
  • Support the preparation and timely submission of monthly monitoring reports.
  • Provide general support for the assessment of qualitative and quantitative impact of grants and community projects.
  • Support with data cleaning and the preparation of M&E reports, considering disaggregated gender, age and vulnerability data.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
Required Experience

Less than two years of relevant working experience.

Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a university degree programme in development studies, Social Science, Law, Humanitarian Affairs or related field (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent);
  • Be enrolled in an advanced tertiary education programme with relevant working experience in the position advertised;
  • Have graduated with a university degree or a tertiary diploma.

Remuneration
Interns are granted a small monthly stipend to help offset costs. Interns benefiting from an internship allowance or scholarship granted by their university or other sponsoring body that includes financial remuneration or credits for coursework will not be eligible for the stipend. IOM covers Interns against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan (CP), free of charge, for the duration of the internship.
