Overview
The National Project Coordinator will support the planning, implementation, and reporting of skills development and enterprise productivity components of a project in Zimbabwe.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyse national and sectoral development plans, socioeconomic data, and project contributions.
- Design project annual work plans and prepare budget proposals with implementing ministries.
- Promote gender equality and non-discrimination in project aspects.
- Explore approaches for institutional and capacity development.
- Review, verify, and analyse project work plans, progress, and final reports.
- Follow up on delayed documents and clarify information.
- Expedite implementation and meet targets by following up with counterparts.
- Assist in programming and control of project resources, preparing budget estimates and expenditure forecasts.
- Identify problems and propose solutions.
- Participate in the design of new development cooperation proposals and resource mobilisation efforts.
- Prepare and conduct conferences, seminars, workshops, training sessions, and consultative meetings.
- Speak on behalf of the Project at gatherings.
- Undertake missions to project sites.
- Brief ILO specialists and visiting officials.
- Draft, edit, or translate official correspondence, statements, and public information materials.
- Contribute to project briefs, background information, technical reports, and progress reports.
- Contribute to maintaining positive relations with media to increase project visibility.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Required Experience
- At least two years of professional experience at the national level in the area of project management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
- Proven experience in working effectively with government bodies in charge of policy making and with development partners would be an asset.
Qualifications
First level degree in economics, business and administration, management, social science or related field with demonstrated expertise.
