Overview

The Resource Mobilisation & Partnership Analyst contributes to the design, analysis and implementation of resource mobilization and partnership strategies within the UNFPA Country Office in Afghanistan. The role provides coordination, information management, and operational support for partnership engagement, donor reporting, and resource mobilization activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development and strengthening of partnerships through substantive inputs to engagement strategies and follow-up actions.
  • Prepare analytical briefs, background notes, and strategic inputs to support senior management engagement with partners.
  • Support day-to-day coordination with international and domestic partners, including scheduling, follow-ups, and documentation of engagements.
  • Contribute to the analysis of partnership landscape, including identification of strategic opportunities aligned with programme priorities.
  • Maintain and analyse partnership data to inform decision making and prioritisation.
  • Analyse funding opportunities and provide recommendations on positioning and engagement.
  • Draft and contribute substantively to the preparation of concept notes and proposals, including compilation of inputs, formatting, and ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
  • Support the integration of results-based narratives and evidence into proposals.
  • Support with identifying and monitoring funding opportunities and maintaining internal records of funding pipelines.
  • Contribute to the development of resource mobilization strategies and approaches, based on analysis of donor priorities and funding trends.
  • Compile information on funding opportunities and prepare updates for internal use.
  • Analyse political, social, and funding trends relevant to partnership and resource mobilization, and identify implications for programme positioning and engagement strategies.
  • Maintain the resource mobilization units records of donor communication and including feeding in updates to CRM as they become available.
  • Contribute to the analysis and consolidation of donor reports, ensuring quality, coherence, and alignment with agreed results frameworks.
  • Provide substantive inputs to reporting, including synthesis of programme results, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Monitor reporting deadlines and proactively follow up with programme teams to ensure timely submission of inputs.
  • Coordinate inputs from programme teams for preparation of donor reports.

  • Support quality assurance and consolidation of reporting materials.
  • Contribute to the development of communication and visibility approaches and materials, ensuring alignment with local context including supporting quality assurance of images, human interest stories and video development.
  • Coordinate with the communications function on visibility materials and partner updates.
  • Draft and curate results-based communication products, including briefs, stories, and other outreach materials highlighting programme impact.
  • Support the preparation of communication materials and coordinate logistical aspects of visibility activities.
  • Analyse partnership and funding data to support strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to partnership-related processes across programme teams.
  • Support coordination between programme teams and partnership engagement efforts to ensure coherence between programme priorities and resource mobilization efforts.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge products, including analytical updates on funding trends, partner engagement, and pipeline status.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor or designated authority.
Required Experience
  • At least two years of relevant professional experience in partnerships, programme support, communications, resource mobilization, or related areas and preferably within the national context, are required.
  • Experience supporting proposal preparation or donor reporting is desirable.
  • Previous experience with international organizations or multilateral agencies is an advantage.
  • Experience in information management, coordination, or programme support functions is desirable.
Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in international relations, public administration, economics, communications, business administration, or other related fields is required.

• Fluency in English and local language Dari and/or Pashto is required.
Languages Preferred
• Working knowledge of other UN languages would be an asset.
