Overview
The Assistant Moniteur PRoL will monitor protection issues in targeted areas of Ansongo, ensuring the safety, confidentiality, and dignity of victims and host communities. The role involves understanding the protection environment, reporting on identified needs, and providing appropriate individual responses.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct mobile field visits to meet targeted individuals and collect data on at-risk persons and humanitarian needs.
- Conduct weekly field visits to meet focal points and collect community monitoring data.
- Utilize digital data collection systems for data entry and upload, participating in relevant training.
- Analyze collected data, triangulate information, and provide feedback to focal points.
- Analyze data to highlight protection trends and needs, reporting to the senior protection officer and M&E manager.
- Facilitate individual interviews and assist focal points in organizing focus groups on selected protection issues.
- Conduct spot observations in areas affected by attacks or new shocks.
- Identify and assist community focal point representatives in ongoing monitoring activities.
- Maintain records of urgent protection needs and actions taken.
- Strengthen IRC's relationships with IDPs, host community leaders, and municipal actors.
- Support the protection team in conducting advocacy on behalf of the community.
- Accompany the ERP team during rapid protection assessments.
- Participate in planning meetings with the Senior Officer Protection (PRoL).
- Participate in the development and monitoring of expenditure plans.
- Ensure timely and accurate material orders and delivery tracking.
- Adhere to IRC's administrative, financial, and logistical procedures.
- Collaborate with the logistics manager and field colleagues to plan vehicle organization.
- Produce weekly movement plans.
- Report all relevant information and concerns to the supervisor.
- Produce weekly movement plans and weekly/monthly activity reports.
- Actively participate in coordination meetings upon supervisor's request.
- Participate in the development of lessons learned and best practices.
- Propose a monthly case study to share with the supervisor.
- Submit internal reports to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Share weekly activity plans with the supervisor/manager.
- Attend all internal coordination and monitoring meetings and forums.
- Participate in relevant coordination meetings, working groups, or forums.
- Ensure all activities are implemented in accordance with IRC's operational and security policies.
Required Experience
- At least 2 years of professional experience in the implementation of protection programs, social work, or case management in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Solid skills in protection response in emergency situations.
- Proven understanding of working with vulnerable people in emergencies and victims of human rights violations.
- At least two years of experience in an NGO, preferably in social work or sociological research.
- Experience working for an international organization is preferred.
- Good experience in protection and good knowledge of the IDP context, as well as a demonstrated ability to identify and refer vulnerable cases, are desirable.
- Experience in regular report writing.
Qualifications
• Bac+2 or equivalent in social work, social sciences, psychology, law, or other relevant disciplines.
