Overview
This role provides technical expertise and support for the establishment and operationalization of an air quality monitoring system in Timor-Leste, ensuring the functionality, reliability, and maintenance of the monitoring infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, prepare, and secure sites for sensor deployment.
- Conduct routine diagnostics and troubleshoot deployed air quality sensors.
- Integrate sensor-generated data into UNEP’s Open Data Management System.
- Maintain, calibrate, and document routine validation of deployed sensors.
- Contribute to the delivery of capacity-building activities targeting relevant staff.
- Participate in on-site mentoring during deployment and operation phases.
Required Experience
- Work in troubleshooting air quality sensors and monitoring equipment.
- Conducting site assessments and evaluations.
- Proficiency in the use of collaboration and productivity tools (e.g. MS Office, G-Suite, etc) and web-based management systems.
Qualifications
• High school diploma (or equivalent) with 6 years of relevant professional experience OR Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with 2 years of relevant professional experience.
