Overview

The Procurement Officer will support supplier enablement, engagement, and performance management, while contributing to the implementation and continuous improvement of digital procurement systems. The role ensures procurement processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with WFP’s objectives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of procurement plans and processes.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of digital procurement solutions (SRM, S2C, P2GR).
  • Facilitate supplier enablement, registration, and onboarding.
  • Act as a focal point for supplier engagement on digital tools.
  • Identify and propose improvements for digital procurement workflows.
  • Engage with suppliers to enhance understanding of WFP requirements and processes.
  • Identify, assess, and recommend potential suppliers.
  • Support the planning and execution of sourcing activities.
  • Provide operational coordination and administrative support for procurement projects.
  • Review, record, and prioritize purchase requests.
  • Prepare purchase orders, contracts, and supporting documentation.
  • Support the end-to-end digital procurement cycle.
  • Monitor supplier performance.
  • Strengthen supplier relationship management.
  • Collate and analyse procurement and supplier performance data.
  • Contribute to audit processes.
  • Align procurement activities with programmatic and operational requirements.
  • Support training and capacity building of staff and suppliers.
  • Guide and supervise junior staff.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response activities.
Required Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing end-to-end procurement processes, including sourcing, contracting, and supplier performance management.
  • Proven experience in supplier onboarding, market engagement, and driving supplier performance and participation in procurement activities.
  • Hands-on experience with digital procurement systems (e.g., SRM, S2C, P2GR) and supporting their implementation, adoption, or optimization within procurement operations.
Qualifications

Advanced University degree in Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Engineering, Legal or Accounting or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses.
