Overview
The role involves leading the design, implementation, and improvement of logistics coordination mechanisms, assessing capacities, and coordinating external logistics services for humanitarian partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of logistics coordination mechanisms.
- Continuously assess logistics capacities, gaps, and bottlenecks.
- Build strong partnerships and ensure inclusive, well-coordinated engagement among stakeholders.
- Coordinate external logistics services (transport, storage, customs clearance, fuel).
- Support national coordination mechanisms.
- Assist in the development and implementation of SOPs for external service delivery.
- Ensure timely collection, analysis, and dissemination of logistics data.
- Strengthen national counterpart ownership of logistics operations.
- Contribute to preparedness and contingency planning.
- Facilitate partner engagement.
- Develop and drive advocacy strategies.
- Support the implementation of UN80 Integrated Supply Chain reforms.
- Support fundraising and reporting efforts.
- Mobilize and manage financial, human, and material resources.
- Promote continuous improvement in service delivery.
Required Experience
5+ years post graduate professional experience in supply chain coordination and management, preferably with UN agencies or INGOs. Proven record in managing teams and coordinating external service delivery. Knowledge of cost-recovery modalities, service provision frameworks, and inter-agency coordination. Experience in reform design, workflow optimization, and accountability mechanisms. Familiarity with UN supply chain and financial procedures and humanitarian coordination mechanisms (Logistics Cluster, HCT).
Qualifications
University degree in International Relations, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Logistics, or Accounting or other relevant field.
