Overview

The consultant will lead WFP Angola's resource mobilization and external communications efforts to expand the donor base and maintain partnerships. The role involves supporting advocacy strategies, overseeing donor reports and external communication products, and providing day-to-day support to the Head of Office.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation of a work plan for partnership development.
  • Engage with functional units to develop content and language for audiences.
  • Support a wide range of aspects of a partnerships portfolio.
  • Facilitate corporate dialogue with partners.
  • Gather and share partner intelligence.
  • Develop a comprehensive donor mapping and Partnership Action Plan.
  • Drive partnership growth.
  • Contribute to the preparation of partnership proposals and agreements.
  • Use socio-political insights to support WFP’s positioning.
  • Lead the drafting of the Annual Country Report (ACR).
  • Support the development of communications/public advocacy strategies.
  • Supervise the national Communications Assistant.
  • Maintain contact with Communications and Protocol officers.
  • Use multimedia materials to position WFP.
  • Serve as editor and reviewer of stories, media messages, and news releases.
  • Organize capacity building sessions.
  • Coordinate and oversee activity planning for the Head of Office.
  • Respond to, review, or draft management reports and correspondence.
  • Ensure internal communication to staff.
  • Represent the Head of Office in meetings.
  • Liaise with other relevant actors.
  • Organize and coordinate travel for the Head of Office.
Required Experience

At least five years of relevant professional experience in partnership roles especially in strategic advisory roles, project proposals/writing, donor reporting requirements etc. UN/WFP experience.

Qualifications

Advanced University degree in Political Science, International Development, Development Economics, Marketing Communications or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses.

Fluency (level C) in written and verbal English. Knowledge of Portuguese and/or other Italian languages is required.
