Overview
The Information Management Assistant will ensure the timely delivery of quality content from information partners and support the coordination of content management across different duty stations. The role involves quality control and verification of content, and addressing client needs by resolving cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely delivery of quality content from information partners and initiate coverage for sudden onset crises and disasters.
- Curate key content through dedicated delivery mechanisms, ensuring visibility and relevance.
- Support coordination of content management across different duty stations to ensure smooth collaboration and consistent workflows.
- Conduct quality control and verification of content, leveraging language skills for coverage.
- Monitor and report any technical problems following standard operating procedures.
- Escalate issues and provide recommendations for improving the content management process.
- Address client needs by efficiently resolving cases, ranging from simple to moderately complex, using empathy and sound judgment.
Required Experience
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience (or three years if graduated with a first-level university degree) in communication, information management, online editing, desktop publishing or journalism with entities operating in the humanitarian, human rights or development sector, is required.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience using web content management systems including the use of taxonomy and content classification is desirable.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in information management directly related to humanitarian issues is desirable.
- Experience working remotely with teams across different locations is desirable.
- Experience in the United Nations Common System or in international organizations similar to those in the UN Common System is desirable.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A first-level university degree may be accepted in lieu of two years of required experience.
- A university degree or specialized qualifications in international affairs, social sciences, library sciences, information systems or related fields are desirable.
