Overview
Responsible for contributing to a cutting-edge web communication strategy and managing the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the organization's web platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to web communication strategy development.
- Manage development, maintenance, and enhancement of web platforms in Drupal and DSpace.
- Set compatibility and technical standards for site accessibility.
- Guide web developers, designers, and service providers.
- Provide technical support to internal stakeholders and end-users.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, bugs, and errors.
- Collaborate with IT support teams or external vendors.
- Conduct business analysis, process mapping, and requirements elicitation.
- Validate and translate business requirements into application functionality.
- Engage in conceptualization of new products and solutions.
- Serve as focal point for internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with graphic designers, UX/UI specialists, and content creators.
- Provide specialized training to team members and users.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive web content strategy.
- Institute an effective workflow process and content management system.
- Source high-quality content for the website.
- Conduct regular quality control.
- Monitor feedback and enhance existing sections.
- Develop organic and paid digital marketing strategies.
- Guide creation and oversee campaigns across digital channels.
- Create a measurement framework to track performance.
- Monitor web platform performance metrics.
- Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Oversee the reporting process.
- Implement optimization strategies.
- Conduct market research and analyze trends.
- Stay up to date with emerging digital marketing trends and technologies.
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights.
Required Experience
- A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in the development and management of web and knowledge platforms for a large science-based organization or related organization is required.
- Experience in managing medium to large-scale technical projects in a multistakeholder environment is required.
- Experience in managing websites content management systems such as Drupal and web content coordination is required.
- Experience in managing library or knowledge platforms, including the technical management of repository software such as DSpace is required.
- A minimum of two years of demonstrated experience in managing a diverse team, including responsibility for planning, performance management and delivery of outputs is required.
- Experience in digital media strategy, transformation and campaigns and other avenues of public information is required.
- Experience in coordinating change management initiatives within the United Nations system or similar international organization is desirable.
- Experience with at least one project management tool (e.g. MS project) is desirable.
- A minimum of two years or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
Qualifications
- Advanced University Degree (master's degree or equivalent) in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems, Communication, Public Information, or other related fields is required.
- A first-level university degree in combination with the two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
- Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is desirable.
