Overview
Provide engineering and technical support for the planning and development of a Model Border Control Post, aligning infrastructure development with international good practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical engineering support for planning and development of a Model Border Control Post.
- Support preparation and refinement of technical documentation.
- Assist in development and review of procurement documentation for consultancy services.
- Support review and quality assurance of technical studies and designs.
- Participate in field missions and technical assessments.
- Support incorporation of operational requirements into infrastructure planning.
- Liaise with relevant IOM units and government counterparts on engineering matters.
- Support project teams in monitoring engineering-related activities.
- Assist in preparation of technical reports and other documentation.
- Support coordination with consultants, contractors, and service providers.
- Undertake duty travel as required.
Required Experience
- At least three years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor's degree; or five years of progressively responsible relevant experience with a High School diploma.
- Experience working in humanitarian and/or development settings.
- Experience supporting engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Experience in support to site planning, construction supervision, or engineering design support.
- Experience liaising with governmental authorities, other national and international institutions and NGOs, and building effective local partnerships including with the private sector.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Building Engineering, Architecture, Infrastructure Planning, or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or High School diploma.
