Overview
Provide technical assistance and support to the Ministry of Health and partners on adolescent and reproductive health programmes and policies. The role involves advocating for accelerated action, adapting guidelines, and coordinating evidence generation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance on design and implementation of health promotion programmes and healthcare services for adolescents.
- Provide technical assistance for development of reproductive health policies and programme implementation.
- Develop relationships with youth organizations to empower adolescents in health initiatives.
- Advocate for accelerated action on adolescent health, including mental health and nutrition.
- Adapt WHO guidelines, tools and training materials on adolescent and reproductive health.
- Coordinate evidence generation for adolescent and reproductive health.
- Design and implement monitoring and evaluation plans.
- Develop technical briefs and strategic communication materials.
- Build networks and strengthen collaboration with partners.
- Support technical and administrative implementation of MOH/WHO collaborative programmes.
- Incorporate adolescent and reproductive health into existing programmes and services.
- Undertake any other tasks/duties as may be assigned by supervisors.
Required Experience
At least 2 years working experience in public health programme implementation, preferably in adolescent and/or reproductive health programmes at national or subnational level. Desirable: Additional years of experience in public health or clinical adolescent and/or reproductive health programmes. Experience working with youth groups and organizations. Previous experience working in UN agencies or international development organizations.
Qualifications
Essential: University degree in medicine, nursing or midwifery, from an internationally recognized university. Desirable: Master degree or specialized medical training in public health, adolescent or reproductive health, or related health subject.
