Overview
Provide general assistance with daily nursing activities and support to migrants and refugees in relation to migration health assessments and treatments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general assistance with daily nursing activities including medical examinations, vital signs checks, blood/urine/sputum collection, TB management support, infection prevention and control, pre-departure procedures, documentation, and sample transport.
- Provide support and general information to migrants and/or refugees regarding migration health assessments, treatments, and referrals.
- Support medical team members with history taking, biodata collection, ID verification, and maintaining applicant registers.
- Follow Health Programmes’ check lists and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and maintain universal precautions.
- Assist in medical emergency and chronic case management, arrange specialist consultations, and ensure receipt of reports.
- Support accurate record keeping and upload medical reports to databases.
- Perform medical escort duties when required.
- Assist with checking medical invoices.
- Prepare lists of medical drugs and supplies for ordering, assist in inventory taking, and confirm/receive ordered drugs and supplies.
Required Experience
- For Bachelor's Degree holder a minimum of two (2) years of relevant clinical experience and for Diploma holder a minimum of four (4) years of relevant clinical experience.
- Training or working experience in the areas of Tuberculosis management, mass immunizations, communicable diseases, laboratory testing or public health is an advantage.
- Experience in working with people from different cultural backgrounds is an advantage.
Qualifications
- Certificate or High School diploma from an accredited academic institution in Nursing.
- A valid license to practice nursing in the country of duty station.
