Overview
Provide technical support to mainstream disability inclusion in the CASHA project and champion equitable access to opportunities, resources, and benefits for persons with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the identification and removal of physical, communication, attitudinal and institutional barriers that may hinder the participation of young women and men with disabilities in CASHA activities.
- Ensure that training venues, materials, tools and engagement approaches are accessible, inclusive and responsive to diverse disability needs.
- Support youth with disabilities participating in CASHA trainings and programme activities to ensure safe, dignified and equitable participation.
- Identify and facilitate the implementation of reasonable accommodation measures based on individual participant needs.
- Conduct accessibility assessments of training venues and community implementation sites.
- Follow up with responsible teams to support implementation of agreed adjustments and promote continuous improvement in disability-inclusive practices.
- Build the capacity of project staff, Master Trainers, Community-Based Facilitators and implementing partners on disability inclusion principles and practical application.
- Support the development and implementation of inclusive participation strategies to enhance equitable access for persons with disabilities.
- Contribute to improved programme outcomes for young women and men with disabilities through systematic integration of disability inclusion across project design, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
Required Experience
• A minimum of two (2) years of progressive work experience in working with persons with disabilities or in inclusion-focused programming or related work
Qualifications
• Diploma in Disability Studies, Community Development, Social Work, Education, or related field from a recognized university is required
