Overview
The Information Management Specialist will support the United Nations Resident Coordinator and the United Nations Country Team in coordinating humanitarian coordination mechanisms. The role contributes to improving the efficiency, coherence, and quality of humanitarian response in Ecuador.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and management of databases, spreadsheets, and data tools.
- Consolidate operational information for analysis.
- Support the evaluation and analysis of location-specific datasets.
- Participate in the development and revision of data standards.
- Support assessment and needs analysis activities.
- Manage platforms and tools for data collection and analysis.
- Assist with the maintenance of spatial datasets and production of map products.
- Manage content on relevant web platforms and undertake quality control.
- Assist in the production and updating of information products such as reports, charts, and infographics.
- Develop advocacy materials.
- Provide support in Humanitarian Program Cycle (HPC) activities.
- Train humanitarian partners in the use of information management tools and platforms.
- Perform any other related tasks as required or assigned by the supervisor.
Required Experience
- More than three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in information management, information systems, web management, data management, GIS and mapping, data visualization, or other related areas, is required.
- Information management experience in the field (actual setting where a mission and/or project is being implemented) in emergency situations (complex emergency or natural disaster) is desirable.
- Experience visualizing data from different sources into an infographic, maps of dynamic dashboards.
- Familiarity with the UN system is an advantage.
Qualifications
Master's degree in : Information Management, Information Systems, Data Management, GIS and Mapping, Data Visualization, Social Sciences.
