Overview

The WatHab Generalist Project Officer will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing engineering projects within the scope of the ICRC’s water and habitat assistance.


Key Responsibilities
  • Draw up documents (drawings, bills of quantities, contracts, etc.) for engineering projects and monitor project implementation
  • Supervise small numbers of contractors working on project sites and conducts quality control of infrastructure installed by the ICRC
  • Create project files in electronic databases (such as the WatHab Project Assistant application) and keep them up to date
  • Prepare implementation/progress reports
  • Provide regular information to colleagues on security, stakeholder issues and site progress
  • Manage project purchasing on labor and materials according to the ICRC’s financial rules
  • Administrate hand-over of ICRC-provided infrastructure to end-users
  • Train or organize training for end-users in the operation and maintenance of infrastructure installed by the ICRC
  • Use results-based management to evaluate project implementation
  • Help identify needs through assessments and surveys
Required Experience

3-5 years of professional experience in a related field of activity

Qualifications

University degree in civil or structural or hydrological/hydraulic or electro-mechanical or electrical or mechanical engineering or geology or water resource management and similar

Languages Required
Good command (spoken, written and listening) of English and Ukrainian
Languages Preferred
Proficient use of Epanet or similar software (e.g., WaterCAD) and/or proficient in the use of mechanical and electrical drawing and calculation software is an asset
