Overview
The WatHab Generalist Project Officer will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing engineering projects within the scope of the ICRC’s water and habitat assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Draw up documents (drawings, bills of quantities, contracts, etc.) for engineering projects and monitor project implementation
- Supervise small numbers of contractors working on project sites and conducts quality control of infrastructure installed by the ICRC
- Create project files in electronic databases (such as the WatHab Project Assistant application) and keep them up to date
- Prepare implementation/progress reports
- Provide regular information to colleagues on security, stakeholder issues and site progress
- Manage project purchasing on labor and materials according to the ICRC’s financial rules
- Administrate hand-over of ICRC-provided infrastructure to end-users
- Train or organize training for end-users in the operation and maintenance of infrastructure installed by the ICRC
- Use results-based management to evaluate project implementation
- Help identify needs through assessments and surveys
Required Experience
3-5 years of professional experience in a related field of activity
Qualifications
University degree in civil or structural or hydrological/hydraulic or electro-mechanical or electrical or mechanical engineering or geology or water resource management and similar
