Overview
The Chief Education is responsible for managing and supervising all stages of education programmes/projects, including strategic planning and formulation, to strengthen national education systems and improve learning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and supervising all stages of education programmes/projects.
- Strategic planning and formulation of education programmes/projects.
- Delivery of results on strengthening national education systems.
- Improving learning outcomes, universal access to quality, equitable and inclusive primary/early childhood education.
- Renewed involvement in skills acquisition through secondary education.
- Leading a group of professional and support staff.
- Developing and managing the education programme in the country.
- Establishing plans of action and overseeing work progress.
- Ensuring achievement of concrete and sustainable programme/project results.
- Applying results-based-management approaches and methodology (RBM).
- Managerial leadership.
- Programme development and planning.
- Programme management, monitoring and quality control of results.
- Advisory services and technical support.
- Advocacy, networking and partnership building.
- Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building.
Required Experience
- 8 years of relevant work experience in education management, education policy, program management, monitoring and evaluation, strategic planning, partnership development, advocacy, capacity building, knowledge management, donor relations.
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
Qualifications
• Master or equivalent (Advanced University Degree) in education, economics, psychology, sociology, public policy, international development, social policy, public administration, development studies, statistics
