Overview
The Generalist Field Officer supports the Field Delegate in planning, implementing, and monitoring protection and prevention activities in Malakal Sub Delegation. S/he develops relationships with authorities and other actors to facilitate ICRC objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Acts as the liaison between the ICRC and key political authorities and other relevant interlocutors.
- Develops, sustains, and leverages a network of contacts.
- Updates the mapping of key interlocutors and maintains contacts.
- Establishes links with South Sudan Red Cross staff and volunteers.
- Monitors the political, security, and humanitarian situation.
- Contributes to environmental scanning and analysis.
- Travels within Upper Nile State.
- Contributes analysis for the annual Planning for Results (PfR) process.
- Consolidates relevant data and compiles statistical reports.
- Provides translations and conducts communication sessions and workshops.
- Participates in external and internal meetings.
- Contributes to the preparation of operational reports.
Required Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a humanitarian area, socio-economic development, humanitarian law, human rights or similar position.
- Good knowledge of geographically assigned area of responsibility in Upper Nile State.
Qualifications
- University Degree and vocational training in a humanitarian area, socio-economic development, humanitarian law, human rights, or equivalent field.
- Expert level in computer skills, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
