Overview
To lead the implementation of the THRIVE Project in World Vision Rwanda, ensuring integration of resilience and livelihood with other livelihood projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish mechanisms to ensure the quality of THRIVE Project implementation for agriculture and economic development
- Provide support in project planning, targeting, monitoring, and reporting impact
- Champion the implementation of project models in all clusters as a customer-driven approach
- Provide technical support to the R&L sector and other project staff implementing livelihood core project models to ensure alignment
- Develop a cost-effective marketing and integration strategy that is effective and appropriate for the target/-desired market
- Develop a business plan and review it quarterly and take appropriate and necessary actions
- Work with VFR to develop suitable and services with an “attractive” name and packaging for new products and services
- Promote and use business forums in sectors and districts to market THRIVE project products and to function as coaching and mentorship forums
- Lead in the training of staff and participate in the training of communities and clients on project model components and products
- Facilitate partners' implementation and ensure they are technically supported to deliver to THRIVE mandate
- Coordinate with project Leads to facilitate cross-team collaboration and coordinate multi-sectoral projects related to poverty alleviation
- Facilitate regular coordination meetings among Project leads in the workstream/cluster to ensure integration and effective coordination
- Monitor the spending of THRIVE and advise clusters on the monthly cash flow to avoid significantly over or underspending
- Compile variance explanations and take action on time to ensure THRIVE budgets are being used as planned
- Develop and monitor the implementation of core project models on a monthly basis
- Regularly monitor the marketing strategies and performance of partners in livelihood and ensure effectiveness in APs
- Monitor the impact of the livelihood programme and marketing efforts by relating them to operational indicators
- Support the collection and documentation of impact and success stories
- Regularly compile and analyze data and submit to TP Manager and other stakeholders
- Produce timely, accurate, compliant and quality reports for WV and mandatory government reports
- Prepare annual reviews/learning events meant for national dailies and international releases on core project models on poverty alleviation
- Participate in WVI communities of participation (CoP) directly related to core project models, such as on Economic Development, Natural Resource Management, Food Security, etc. and represent WVR in such meetings
- Develop and circulate project model promotional material, e.g. brochures, leaflets and fliers
- Document lessons learnt and better practices on project models
- Document and share impact stories and lessons learned along the implementation and monitoring processes
Required Experience
- 5 years of experience in Community Development with a major focus on economic development with an international NGO (or similar organization); or government ‘s related projects.
- A good understanding of the Rwanda multi-sectoral approach to graduate people out of poverty.
- Sound knowledge of the Rwanda Resilience and Livelihood programming context
- Demonstrated ability to work in Resilience and Livelihood programs across Rwanda
- Strong project management skills
- Strong capacity building skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Experience in implementing agribusiness and graduation models including BSL, UPG, Local Value Chain Development, Business Facilitation, Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture, ect.
- Experience in promoting financial literacy models such as MIF, Saving Groups , etc.
- Experience in working with cooperatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Agriculture, Agribusiness, Rural Development, Entrepreneurship, or any other related field. (If the degree is issued by a foreign institution, an equivalence certificate from the Rwanda Higher Education Council (HEC) will be required)
- Driving License Category B with the ability to drive a car
