Principal Sustainable Solutions Specialist

Overview

This role supports developing member countries in accelerating private sector development for climate resilience and low carbon outcomes, focusing on private sector capital mobilization for climate actions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to scale up private sector capital mobilization to maximize climate outcomes.
• Conduct diagnostics and policy dialogue with government officials, financial institutions, and development partners.
• Support the development of midstream and downstream pipeline opportunities and conduct operations with substantial climate outcomes.
• Lead processing and administration of technical assistance for climate-focused activities.
• Lead the development and dissemination of knowledge and innovation work and promote capacity building.
• Establish ADB as a thought leader in private capital mobilization for climate actions.
• Track and share best practices from regional and global markets.
• Lead the development and maintenance of relationships with external partners.

Required Experience

At least 12 years work experience in climate-related private sector project development, advisory, financing activities, preferably in the Asia and Pacific region. International experience working in several countries. Significant experience in private sector development, transaction advisory, risk mitigation, or debt / equity finance in climate change mitigation and adaptation projects. Working experience with governments, investors, private equity funds, commercial banks, and international organizations. Familiarity with private investment operations, policies, and procedures of multilateral financial institutions is preferred.

Qualifications

Master's degree, or equivalent in economics, finance, business administration, engineering, climate; or University degree and at least 5 years specialized experience relevant to the position can be considered.
