Overview

Provides financial interpretations, adaptations, and corrective actions. Processes vendor payments, payroll, and electronic bank transfers.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provides advice on UN Financial Regulations and Rules.
  • Processes travel and non-travel related commercial vendor invoices.
  • Assists in budget development and cost estimate preparation.
  • Reviews and analyzes budget data and RBB inputs.
  • Populates supplementary forms for operational and staffing changes.
  • Receives and records invoices, reviews supporting documentation.
  • Processes vendor payments and advises on missing documentation.
  • Maintains a record of pending issues and responds to queries.
  • Assists in measuring performance against KPIs.
  • Processes payroll related payments and electronic bank transfers.
  • Processes cheque payments and BP maintenance.
  • Verifies and checks transfers to house banks.
  • Prepares imprest statements and remittance requests.
  • Releases payroll and non-payroll related payments.
  • Liaises with banks and answers queries.
  • Keeps accurate records for auditing and performance reports.
  • Participates in open item resolution.
  • Drafts correspondence on finance matters.
  • Prepares ad hoc reports on finance matters.
  • Performs other related duties.
Required Experience

A minimum of seven years of experience in finance, budget, accounting, administrative services or related area is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to five (5) for candidates who possess a first level degree or higher. Experience in application of UN Financial Rules and Regulations including preparation of cost estimates and various financial reports in an operational environment are required. Experience in the use of modules of Umoja an Enterprise Resources System ERP is desirable.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required. A technical or vocational certificate in finance or accounting is required. A technical or vocational certificate in Relevant training in FI, FM and BI modules of Umoja (SAP) or similar application are required.
