Overview
This role supports the Public Information team in converting corporate data into social media-ready graphics and short data videos to extend the reach of OHCHR OPT's public communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design static infographic cards for social media (primarily WhatsApp, Facebook, and X/Twitter) based on data and messaging provided by the Public Information team;
- Produce short data videos or animated graphics (15–60 seconds) for use across OHCHR OPT's social media channels;
- Work within OHCHR's visual identity guidelines;
- Incorporate feedback from the Head of Communications and Head of Office and revise designs accordingly within agreed turnaround times;
- Propose creative approaches to recurring data themes to support a coherent visual communications strategy.
- Delivered within 5 working days of each brief: Short data videos / motion graphics (where applicable)
- End of assignment: Organised asset archive (shared drive)
Required Experience
- Demonstrated experience producing data visualisation or infographic content for social media platforms;
- Proficiency in at least one professional design tool (Canva Pro, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects, or equivalent);
- Portfolio demonstrating relevant design work (mandatory — applications without a portfolio will not be considered);
- Ability to work within brand guidelines and incorporate editorial feedback;
- Experience producing motion graphics or short data videos (desirable);
- Familiarity with UN visual identity standards (desirable);
- Prior experience working with a human rights, humanitarian, or development organisation (desirable);
- Knowledge of the human rights situation in the OPT (desirable).
Qualifications
University degree or equivalent qualification in graphic design, visual communications, multimedia, social science, or a related field;
