Overview
The MEAL Assistant will be responsible for conducting Monitoring & Evaluation activities as per the work plan, ensuring compliance with DRC MEAL procedures and guidelines. This role contributes to program quality assurance and data management, providing MEAL technical support to field operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for all projects database, updating regularly according to project requirements.
- Make recommendations about methods for data collection, analysis, and management to improve data quality.
- Support MEAL Officer in all MEAL requirements including capacity building, assessments, and reporting.
- Manage the Gender Based Violence Information Management System (GBVIMS).
- Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of beneficiary database records.
- Support in conducting assessments and community visits, facilitating focus groups.
- Conduct field data collection through mobile data collection and paper forms.
- Assist in conducting data analysis and providing inputs for reports.
- Participate in baseline, mid-term, and end of term evaluations.
- Support short-term M&E evaluators, consultants, and experts.
- Support research and study activities on M&E related issues.
- Conduct community visits and focus group discussions with beneficiaries.
- Manage Feedback Complaints and Response Mechanism (FCRM) and the Kakuma Toll-free line.
- Assist in ensuring the Indicator Performance Tracking Tool (IPTT) is updated monthly.
- Assist in compiling, reviewing, and submitting weekly and monthly program reports.
- Assist in the preparation of sector operation plans/work plans & reviews.
- Assist in maintaining a clear and transparent filing system.
- Support documentation and visibility of project activities.
- Assist in photo taking, review, organization, and archiving of visibility content.
- Support the development and dissemination of communication and visibility materials.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience within the field of Monitoring and Evaluation.
- Experience in working with data analysis software (SPSS, STATA and Excel).
- Working knowledge of data Visualization tool preferably PowerBI.
- Good skills in designing data collection tools using digital platform e.g. KoboCollect.
- Experience in conducting surveys (Baseline, Midline, Endline, Outcome Harvesting, Beneficiary Feedback Surveys, Needs Assessments etc.).
- Basic understanding of Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS).
- Experience with capacity building of staff in M&E processes.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office Word, Excel Power Point.
- Excellent analytical and report writing skills (English).
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Knowledge and experience in communication, visibility, photography, or design of information materials will be an added advantage.
- Previous work experience in hardship areas or emergency setting.
Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics/Information management Sciences and a background in Monitoring and Evaluation.
