Overview

This internship assignment is in the Organization Development Unit (ODU), Human Resources Management Section (HRMS) in the Administration and Conference Management Division (ACMD), United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA). The internship programme is for a period of six months, depending on the needs of the section.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the 2027 Learning Needs verification by developing surveys and collecting data.
  • Assist in monitoring and following up on the update and maintenance of the O-Induction programme
  • Assist the language center by tracking and recording attendance for language courses.
  • Contribute to the design and improvement of HR dashboards by supporting the organization and presentation of HR-related statistical information.
  • Assist with administrative tasks to support the implementation and follow-up of ongoing HR projects.
  • Support reporting requirements for mandatory training and performance management.
  • Support learning programmes and workshops logistics.
  • Assist in drafting internal communications, training announcements, and knowledge-sharing materials.
  • Assist in compiling periodic and post training reports.
  • Perform tasks as assigned by the head of the unit.
Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, a first degree or graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) is required
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent). An academic background in adult education, human resources management, or management studies is desirable.

Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
