Overview

This internship supports the development, testing, and validation of AI-based tools for drone digital forensics use cases and includes contributions to the design and assembly of a 3D-printed drone.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support research on UAS and counter-UAS technologies.
  • Assist in the development, testing, and validation of AI-based tools for drone forensics.
  • Evaluate the performance of AI models applied to drone data.
  • Assist in the design, assembly, and iterative development of a 3D-printed drone platform.
  • Participate in testing and documentation of drone systems and forensic workflows.
  • Maintain technical documentation, test reports, and datasets.
  • Report progress, findings, and challenges.
  • Assist with coordination and technical updates during stakeholder engagements.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Required Experience

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.

Qualifications
  • HS Diploma.
  • Enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • OR enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Field of study must be closely related to Computer Forensics, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or other relevant Forensics or ICT disciplines.
  • Good knowledge of standard software applications, especially MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams, or similar.

Languages Required
Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
Languages Preferred
Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is desirable. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
