Overview
The Refugee Support Coordinator will receive, guide, and assist Palestine refugees from Syria (PRS) in Egypt with registration processes and available services. The role involves coordinating with partners to respond to their needs and monitoring assistance agreements.
Key Responsibilities
- Receives Palestine refugees from Syria (PRS) and guides them on the on-line registration process.
- Informs and supports PRS on available assistance and services in Egypt.
- Coordinates with relevant departments and service providers to respond to PRS needs or complaints.
- Stays abreast of political, social, economic, and cultural developments in Egypt/the region impacting refugees.
- Supports implementation and monitors ongoing assistance agreements with partners.
- Acts as a focal point for partners including IOM, UNHCR, WFP, the Palestinian Embassy, and other stakeholders.
- Participates in interagency groupings and identifies service providers for PRS inclusion in policy discussions.
- Provides input to relevant studies, questionnaires, and reports.
- Drafts correspondence to stakeholders regarding vulnerabilities.
- Prepares statistics, figures, and reports for internal and external use.
- Keeps detailed records of PRS received, issues, and assistance/referral provided.
- Assists supervisor in providing disaggregated data on PoCs and their issues.
- Maintains and expands a network of service providers for an effective referral mechanism.
- Manages the office hotline to respond to inquiries and disseminate information.
- Logs new requests for assistance and coordinates referrals.
- Maintains accurate and disaggregated referral records.
- Monitors protection-related trends and developments.
Required Experience
At least five years’ experience of working with refugees, vulnerable migrants or people with complex needs is required. Experience in law or public affairs, including experience in a multicultural environment is required. Experience in inter-Agency coordination and cooperation is required. Experience and proficiency in operating personal computers and standard software applications used by the Agency such as Office 365 and other tools is required. Familiarity with the UN system and Middle East and the Palestine refugee issue is desirable. Understanding of the challenges faced by refugees in Egypt is desirable.
Qualifications
A university degree from an accredited educational institution in refugee affairs, law, public or international relations or related fields.
